heads to turn in October here at Mohonk Mountain House. The flowers form in tiers and the buds
are as intriguing as the open blooms. This plant is not winter hardy, but is easy enough to
overwinter in a cool greenhouse. The sun looks terribly bright here, doesn't it?

Boy, this new Hydrangea
paniculata 'Vanilla Strawberry' really does mature to a nice
"smoothie" color. Our plants are young but already throw lots of
large heads. This plant is destined for greatness.
